A Retelling of The Wizard of Oz from Dorothy’s Perspective

In Development: Last year, Allen was contacted by the Dorothy Gale Estate and given exclusive access to Dorothy’s diary which chronicled her original trip to the Land of Oz. Long ago, she had sold her story rights to L. Frank Baum who went on to write The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and many other books about Oz.

The family has asked Allen to modernize some of Dorothy’s original language and bring Dorothy’s The Journey to Oz story to life as a narrative. They have also asked him to write about their continuing adventures, which has led to The Quest for Oz.
